LOCAL EDUCATION LEADER RECEIVES SUPPORT FROM CURRENT SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS

Dave Reid, a candidate for Folsom Cordova Unified School District (FCUSD), brings a unique combination of professional and community volunteer experience to his candidacy for School Board having been involved in the development of education policy at the local, state, and federal levels for over 20 years.

Reid has been endorsed by current FCUSD School Board Members Sarah Aquino, Chris Clark, and Zak Ford.

“Dave has regularly attended school board meetings for over three years” said Zak Ford. “I am impressed by anyone who takes the time to learn the local issues before running for office, but even more so when you consider the depth of Dave’s education policy experience.”

Reid began his career serving as staff counsel to the Education Committees in the New York State Legislature where he was part of the K-12 state budget negotiating team and drafted numerous laws that improved education in the Empire State.

He later served as counsel to the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation before moving to California in 2006 to serve as counsel at EdFund and Education Credit Management Corporation (ECMC) in Rancho Cordova.

Reid currently serves as President of the Folsom Cordova PTA Council and is a member of the FCUSD Measure G Bond Oversight Committee. Previous to this Dave was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce where he founded the Chamber’s Business & Education Alliance Committee to bring the business and education communities together and was a founding board member of the Folsom Cordova Education Foundation.

“Dave has been active in both the Rancho Cordova and Folsom communities for years” said Chris Clark. “I have seen Dave’s passion for education and the community firsthand. I think he would make a great addition to the school board.”

Dave and his wife Karen are the parents of three children – Jackson (9thgrade), Connor (7thgrade), and Logan (5thgrade).

“While you certainly do not need to have school-age children to be an effective board member, I do believe having children in elementary, middle, and high school will give Dave an additional perspective that will benefit the board” said Sarah Aquino. “He is very thoughtful in the way he approaches issues. Dave will do a great job.”
